Who it fits
Good fit for
This freezer suits renters, students, or RV owners who need extra frozen storage without taking up much floor space. Its narrow depth makes it easy to place in corners or under counters. The adjustable temperature settings help you store different types of food safely. The removable basket keeps smaller items organized. If you need a quiet, energy-efficient unit for a garage or office, this compact chest freezer provides the capacity and portability you likely require.
Who should skip it
You should look elsewhere if you need a large family-sized freezer. The 3.5 cubic feet capacity is limited for bulk buying or large households. If you prefer a top-loading door with a lock, this model only offers a chest lid. The unit does not list smart connectivity or digital displays in the provided data. Buyers needing extensive interior shelving or a larger footprint should consider the 5.0 or 7.0 cubic feet variations available from this brand.
Verdict: The BODACIOUS 3.5 Cu.Ft Chest Freezer is a practical, space-saving solution for small living areas. Its compact size and adjustable settings make it a solid choice for supplemental frozen storage.
Key specs explained
Total Capacity: 3.5 cu. ft.
This volume tells you how much frozen food fits inside. You can store a moderate amount of groceries or bulk items without taking up too much floor space. It is small enough for tight spots but large enough for regular use. Compare this capacity with other mini freezers to ensure it meets your storage needs before buying.
Form Factor: Chest
A chest design opens from the top. This style keeps cold air inside better than front-loading models because cold air sinks. You get more usable space since there are no shelves blocking the interior. It is ideal for stacking bags of frozen goods. Consider this shape if you prioritize efficiency and storage flexibility over easy access.
Adjustable Temperature Control: 6 temperature settings
You can fine-tune the cooling level to match your environment or food type. Six settings give you enough range to keep items solidly frozen without overworking the compressor. This control helps you save energy in warm rooms. You can adjust it seasonally. Check if other units offer more precise digital controls if you need exact temperature management.
Interior Organization: Removable basket
The included basket helps sort smaller items like vegetables or ice cream. You can lift it out to clean the interior or access items at the bottom. This feature adds convenience without adding permanent shelves. It keeps your freezer tidy. Look for similar organizational tools in other compact models to see how they handle small item storage.
Design and build details
The BODACIOUS BD-72Q-NEW presents a straightforward black exterior. According to the listing, this finish is durable and easy to clean. The chest form factor allows you to place items directly into the main compartment. A removable basket sits inside to help organize smaller packages. This layout keeps frequently used items accessible while maximizing the 3.5 cubic feet of total capacity.
Size and weight matter for placement. The unit measures 20.5 inches wide, 16.1 inches deep, and 30.5 inches high. It weighs 38.8 pounds. These dimensions allow it to fit in tight spots like dorm rooms, apartments, or RVs. The compact footprint ensures it does not dominate a small room. You can move it with relative ease if needed.
Controls are simple. The listing specifies six temperature settings. This range lets you adjust the internal climate for different storage needs. A frost drainage port is included for maintenance. You can drain water quickly without tipping the unit. The design prioritizes function over complexity. You get a reliable storage solution that fits into limited spaces without requiring extensive installation or setup.
Setup and daily use guide
Setting up the BODACIOUS BD-72Q-NEW requires a flat, stable surface. Its footprint measures 20.5 inches wide and 16.1 inches deep. The height is 30.5 inches. You should ensure there is adequate ventilation space around the unit to support its energy-efficient operation. The listing notes that this model is designed for quiet performance, so placement near living areas is feasible without significant noise disruption. The unit weighs 38.8 pounds, making it manageable to move if you need to reposition it in a dorm, apartment, or RV.
Daily operation centers on the six temperature settings. This control allows you to adjust the freezing conditions based on your storage needs. You can select the setting that best preserves your specific frozen goods. The interior includes a removable basket, which helps you organize items and keep them accessible. When maintenance is required, the frost drainage port provides a practical solution for defrosting. You can use this port to remove ice buildup quickly, simplifying the cleaning process. This feature helps maintain the freezer’s efficiency over time. The 3.5 cubic feet capacity supports moderate bulk storage. You can load groceries or prepared meals directly into the main compartment. The chest design allows for straightforward loading and unloading. This setup is suitable for users who need reliable frozen storage in compact environments. The adjustable thermostat ensures you can maintain consistent temperatures for your food items.
Before you buy this freezer
You should verify that your electrical outlet matches the plug type before installation. The listing notes an estimated daily energy cost based on a 12-cent per kWh rate. You should check your local utility rates to confirm if this aligns with your actual expenses. The unit weighs 38.8 pounds. You may need help moving it into place if you lack assistance. The removable basket helps with organization, but you might want additional bins for smaller items. Frost drainage requires you to have a towel or container ready for water. This chest model occupies more floor space than upright units. If you prioritize vertical storage, consider the other 1 options in this guide. The 3.5 cubic foot capacity suits small households or dorms. Larger families may need the 7.0 cubic foot variant listed in variations. Ensure your space allows for the 20.5-inch width and 16.1-inch depth. Ventilation is critical for energy efficiency. Keep sides clear to maintain performance.
